Summer Enrichment Programs NJ

“Best camp I’ve ever been to!” – Anonymous 2015 Student

When will there be an Open House where we can come and visit the campus and meet staff?
We have two open houses coming up! March 25th and May 20th from 1 – 3pm Come to campus and meet us!

Who will my suite mates be? What are the residence halls like?
Suite mates are matched by age and the info provided in the roommate section of the application. Students are housed on floors by gender, and staff live on each floor. There are four students per suite, each with his or her own bedroom. Each floor has common lounges with TVs, ping-pong, foosball tables, couches and quiet areas. Dorms are secure with key-cards and 24-hour Campus Safety.  CSS – summer enrichment programs NJ loves!

I’m flying to camp; can someone pick me up?
Yes; the College offers drivers and vans to pick-up and drop-off students at Newark Airport (EWR) Summer Scholars staff members escort students. For those who choose this service, full payment and travel information must be submitted by June 1.

Can I bring my cell phone or laptop?
Students may bring their cell phones; however, we have a strict cell phone use policy. Students may not carry phones with them around campus. Phone use can be disruptive to the learning environment and can prevent students from connecting with the new friends and mentors. Students may take cell phones on all off-campus trips, as an extra level of safety. Students and parents may reach each other 24-hours a day through the program office. Students may not bring personal laptops but may use the campus computer labs for e-mail and Internet use.

How well supervised are the students while attending CSS?
Safety is our top priority! The environment is filled with excitement, relaxation, and opportunity. Throughout the day, students are offered a variety of supervised activities tailored to their interests and energy levels. With an experienced, highly-trained staff and college security, CSS provides necessary supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of our students.  Indeed CSS has the summer enrichment programs NJ loves!

How old is everybody who attends CSS? Is my student going to be with students very much older/younger?
Because of our size, we attract students from across our age range. We have plenty of students at each grade and age. So whether your student is 12 and this is a first-time sleep-away experience (we get this kind of student all the time and we train our staff for this) or whether your student is 16 or even 17 and going in to senior year (we get lots of these kids too and they are especially thrilled to participate in our Admissions seminar) we will be able to place students with kids their own age. The most important age-placement comes in making the suites; it is our belief that the suites should be populated by students as close in age as possible. That is our first criterion; after that we look to mix up which classes the suite-mates are taking. In this way we want to give each student as similar in age a roommate as possible! Big picture, no matter how old your student, we will have someone close enough in age for them to befriend!

What is the difference between CSS and some of those other programs?
Our focus is on student achievement, personal growth, academic enrichment and socialization factors all bundled into an awesome Collegiate experience. We don’t know what other programs do, but if a company rents space from a College and runs their own camps, they are probably more interested in profit than profound personal development. We don’t like to talk bad about any other program… we simply believe that our program is the best! We have a laser focus. Join us to see why we have been so successful!

Do you offer financial aid or scholarships?
Sadly, no, we do not offer financial aid.  You might try your local school, church or other charitable organization to find funds.
